💔 “Amorim treated me TERRIBLY before I left, but now that he’s GONE I’m ready to come back to Old Trafford because this is MY HOME and I refuse to abandon it” – Former Man United star who DEPARTED because of Ruben Amorim is now SET TO RETURN next week! 🔴✨ The COMEBACK nobody saw coming… Who is it? 👀🔥

Former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has made his feelings known about Ruben Amorim’s dismissal by engaging with a social media post.

The Portuguese head coach was removed from his Manchester United position after 14 months in charge, following controversial comments he made after their 1-1 draw with Leeds United.

Garnacho has now delivered one last subtle dig at his former manager despite having already departed Old Trafford in somewhat acrimonious circumstances during the summer, after their professional relationship broke down irreparably. The 21-year-old was among multiple United players who found themselves consigned to the periphery and told to find new clubs elsewhere.

Several months after the winger’s transfer to Chelsea, Amorim was shown the door by United following his startling public statements that revealed underlying friction within the organization, reports the Manchester Evening News. In their official announcement, the club stated: “Ruben Amorim has left his position as Head Coach of Manchester United. Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and guided the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May.

“With Manchester United currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table, the club’s leadership has reluctantly concluded that now is the appropriate time for a change. This decision will provide the team with the strongest possible opportunity to achieve the highest Premier League finish.

“The club extends its gratitude to Ruben for his service and wishes him every success in his future endeavors. Darren Fletcher will assume temporary control of the squad for Wednesday’s match against Burnley.”

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano posted the announcement across his social media platforms, notably on Instagram, and among those who reacted was the former United attacker, who liked the update. The Argentine was moved on to Premier League competitors Chelsea during the summer after falling out of favor with the Portuguese tactician. Garnacho had grown visibly frustrated during his final months at United as he was excluded from significant matches, including May’s Europa League final.

When Garnacho was asked recently whether he harbored any second thoughts about his decision to leave Old Trafford, he replied firmly: “No. No. Sometimes in life you have to make changes to progress or develop as a player. The timing was right, and the club was right. So it was a straightforward decision.”

Back in May, Amorim had informed Garnacho that he would be free to pursue opportunities with another club over the summer after leaving him out of the squad entirely for the season’s final fixture against Aston Villa. Garnacho had voiced his frustration with the decision to omit him from the starting lineup for their European cup final defeat.

The manager responded at the time by saying: “He is a Manchester United player who isn’t included in today’s squad, but he remains a Manchester United player nonetheless.”
