Manchester United manager Erig Ten Hag has announced VERY SAD NEWS for Summer signee Leny Yoro as he goes off during the first 34 minutes vs Arsenal

It only took 13 minutes. One minute Rasmus Hojlund was on the move and scoring, and the next minute he was out.

Talking about Manchester United’s fitness problems on Friday, Erik ten Hag said, “It will happen.” Before the season even began, it began. Within twenty-five minutes of his first pre-season game, United’s new number nine left the field hurt.

Before the half was over, Leny Yoro also limped off, sad. The teens’ friends tried to comfort them, and Ten Hag walked over to see what was going on. That’s a lot of ability worth £130 million that might not be available for the rest of preseason or even after.

United’s injury history was not very far away at the strange SoFi venue. Sir Dave Brailsford’s talk about minor gains—meal windows, sleep windows, and natural light—seems to be the faith for United. They need to turn on a different light.

United has had a lot of changes to its teaching staff, but one thing is missing: a new fitness coach. The same one is still with United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer promoted them five years ago, when United said they would have the best team ever. Injuries kept Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, and Paul Pogba out of action until the end of August.

After 66 cases last season, the flies have started to drop more quickly this season. Hojlund’s injury in late February pretty much killed United’s best four chances, but at least they have Joshua Zirkzee, a specialist scorer, to turn to. The new player, who cost £36.5 million, hasn’t met up with his friends yet because he’s on vacation in Los Angeles.

How frustrating for Hojlund to be back in the scoring zone after a lackluster European Championship. His fall back to earth was slow, and he was able to walk on his own to the cave. His last layoff lasted three weeks, and the Community Shield starts in less than two weeks.

Hojlund fought straight and dominated the 17-year-old Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven before hitting past Karl Hein, who was open on the left side. We still don’t know if that was his last kick in the United States.

When Yoro realized he couldn’t go on, he looked more upset. Hannibal Mejbri, who also spoke French, went to find him to comfort him, but his body language showed that he was still sad. When United fired him, one of their employees cursed.

The 18-year-old didn’t train with United at UCLA on Friday afternoon, but Harry Maguire didn’t either, and he made it through 45 minutes without complaining.

Ten Hag doesn’t like to lose matches, but with ten minutes left in the first half, he told five wide players to warm up very hard. During the break, he made ten moves, including hooking Mejbri, who replaced Hojlund. Rhys Bennett, who had played for 11 minutes, also left the game.

There were some good things about the evening. There were signs that the shirt isn’t as heavy on Andre Onana and Mason Mount’s shoulders as it was their first year. In and around his area, Onana was aggressive, and when Leandro Trossard tried to attack, he quickly blocked him, drawing “oohs.” The second half’s leader was Onana.

Mount, who played behind the scorer, was active and made a way for Amad to score, even before he got back on his feet. That was sometimes Hojlund against men last season, but for his goal, it was the other way around.

Maguire came back after missing two and a half months with a calf injury. Harry Amass played well and learned an important lesson when he quickly called Gabriel Jesus offside when he was onside and scored to tie the game. The 17-year-old has to deal with both good and bad things. Gabriel Martinelli, who scored the game-winning goal, gave right back James Scanlon a hard time in the first half.

That’s what Ten Hag said before the game: “We want United to play to our character, which is being aggressive.” We want to play out from the back, but we know we need to be tough about it. There wasn’t much of that in a calm environment with empty seats all over the stands. Even though Arsenal won 2-1, a respectable 62,486 people still showed up, and since this is America, the game ended with a spot shootout.

Onana’s drive to win did not fade. He chose to play kidology with Fabio Vieira, punched the air with Kai Havertz’s denial, and praised another missed spot kick. From 12 yards out, United won 4–3.

The SoFi was more impressive. It will be the site of the opening and closing events of the 2028 Olympics and a World Cup semifinal in 2026. During their own inspection, United staff were amazed by the surroundings, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe wanted to make Old Trafford look less old.

It was rough for some of the guys in Los Angeles.
