Former Real Madrid manager and Three times Champion league winner Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as Manchester United manager after the sack of Erik Ten Hag

After reportedly talking with the FA, Thomas Tuchel may soon not be available as a possible alternative for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United if he decides to become England’s new manager.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS may have another top choice in mind to replace the Dutchman at Old Trafford, though. Ten Hag is still under a lot of scrutiny because United has only won seven of their last 30 Premier League and European games under his watch. This is despite surviving the six-hour meeting in London on Tuesday between the club’s decision-makers, which included Ratcliffe, Joel Glazer, and Sir Dave Brailsford.

People think that Tuchel will be the best person to take over if United decide to make a change soon. When the German coach got to Monaco after leaving Bayern Munich in the summer, he talked with Ratcliffe, but things did not go further. There were rumors that Ratcliffe did not want him after investing £1.3 billion in United for a 28% stake in the club in February.

Foot Mercato claimed earlier this year that Ratcliffe wanted to bring Zinedine Zidane to M16 as part of his plan to bring United back to their past glory. There was a story that said INEOS wanted to replace Ten Hag with the Frenchman. The Express says that Jean-Claude Blanc, who is now on the board of United, tried to sign him at Paris Saint-Germain.

Zidane has been quietly waiting for the right chance since he quit Real Madrid for the second time in 2021. He won two La Liga titles and three straight Champions League wins from 2015 to 2018 during his two stints. He is 52 years old.

There are rumors that he is waiting for Didier Deschamps’s time as France boss to end before taking over. RMC says Deschamps has no plans to step down any time soon, though, because he wants to host the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Reports say that the current France manager, who won the World Cup in 2018, does not want to give his job to Zidane because he thinks that Zidane might take away from his reputation. If Zidane becomes available, Ratcliffe could take advantage of the chance, especially if Tuchel suddenly becomes unavailable.

United’s main goal is still to help Ten Hag, hoping that things will get better right away after the October break. If things do not get better, he might not be able to stay on until after the international break in November.
