BREAKING NEWS: Cole Palmer “made him look foolish” during their battle, according to Roy Keane, who made the statement in a recent interview this morning. Keane was very critical of a Manchester United player.

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane, now a pundit for Sky Sports, criticized his old team after their 1-1 draw with Enzo Maresca’s side, expressing frustration with multiple incidents during the game.

Keane was particularly upset with Lisandro Martinez, arguing that he was fortunate to avoid a red card for a challenge on Cole Palmer. He also criticized Diogo Dalot for a subpar performance at Old Trafford.

Commenting on Martinez’s challenge, Keane told Sky Sports, “He’s a lucky boy. Honestly. Palmer made him look foolish with a great piece of skill, and it was a nasty tackle. He didn’t catch him fully, just down the side of his leg, but if he’d been sent off, there’d be no complaints.”

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, also on the panel, agreed, saying, “I’d call it a red card for intent. He knew he was late and decided to leave a mark.”

Keane further criticized Dalot for his missed opportunities, saying, “You need to take control, hit the target, and finish big chances. These are top-quality players missing easy goals. Dalot missed last week too, yet people keep saying he’s good. Score to keep your manager’s job for a few more weeks.”

Reflecting on United’s overall performance, Keane said, “[Incoming permanent manager] Ruben Amorim should have signed a longer contract. This United team is average, and the stats prove it. They’re inconsistent and disappointing. Calling them ‘boring’ might be harsh, but it was a flat performance. From the manager’s perspective, this team is far off the mark, and the lack of goals is hard to believe.”
