BREAKING NEWS: “Since he (Nkunku) is getting ready to leave for another club, we also have to be ready to replace him and his upgrade would only cost £66m. He’s busy tearing it up in his current team” – This is according to Enzo Maresca as Chelsea is reportedly at the forefront of the competition to sign a “monstrous” £66m upgrade for Christopher Nkunku. The club is keen on strengthening their squad, with this high-profile transfer potentially offering a more formidable attacking option to enhance their forward line.

Chelsea spent £198.8m during the transfer window, with their most notable acquisition being Pedro Neto for £51.4m. They also signed João Félix, Jadon Sancho, and several others but missed out on adding another striker to support Nicolas Jackson.

Recent reports indicate that Chelsea is now leading the chase for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has scored an impressive 23 goals this season. Gyokeres, valued at £66m, has also attracted interest from Manchester United, but Chelsea is keen to bolster their attacking options.

Gyokeres’ strong stats, including 1.41 goals per 90 minutes, make him an ideal candidate to complement Jackson. His physicality in the box, an element Chelsea currently lacks, could enhance their offensive capabilities. This would allow Nkunku to adopt a more creative role.

It was a busy summer for Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca, who oversaw the arrival of 11 new players and the departure of 26, including 14 on loan.
