“I can’t keep watching him I’ve had enough” 🗣 “Don’t want to see him starting again” 🗣 “Not good enough, never will be”

Chelsea fans expressed their disappointment with Noni Madueke’s performance during the team’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Despite the win, the 22-year-old winger struggled to make a positive impact, leading to criticism from supporters.

Following the international break, Chelsea returned to Premier League action with a strong start against newly-promoted Leicester. Nicolas Jackson gave the visitors an early lead in the 15th minute, and Enzo Fernandez doubled the advantage in the second half with a well-placed header, putting Chelsea in a commanding position.

However, Madueke’s display became a focal point for frustration. His contributions were limited, and he had some unfortunate moments, including a disallowed goal for offside and an incident where he inadvertently blocked Cole Palmer’s goal-bound shot, leading to a Leicester goal kick.

Fans voiced their dissatisfaction on social media, with one asking, “Why is Madueke still on the pitch?” and another suggesting he needs to “calm down.” Some questioned whether he should continue to hold a starting spot after this performance.

Madueke was substituted in the 85th minute for Jadon Sancho, but by then, the damage to his reputation among fans had already been done. In stoppage time, Leicester narrowed the deficit when Jordan Ayew converted a penalty after Romeo Lavia fouled Bobby Decordova-Reid. However, Chelsea managed to hold on for the win.

The result keeps Chelsea in third place in the Premier League, three points clear of Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Brighton, though other weekend matches remain.

Chelsea’s next test is a UEFA Conference League clash against Heidenheim on Thursday. Given the criticism of Madueke’s performance, manager Enzo Maresca may consider adjustments to the lineup for the upcoming fixtures.
