BREAKING NEWS: A Liverpool player has been advised to consider transferring to Chelsea, with suggestions that it’s the ideal moment to embrace a fresh challenge. The move is described as a “low-risk” opportunity, offering the player a chance to revitalize their career at a new club.

Bent suggests that a transfer to Stamford Bridge could give Kelleher the opportunity to achieve his ambition of becoming a first-choice goalkeeper.

Liverpool strengthened their roster in the summer by signing Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was immediately loaned back to Valencia for the season. Mamardashvili is expected to either compete with Alisson Becker for the top spot or take over as Liverpool’s primary goalkeeper next season. This situation likely leaves Kelleher uncertain about his future at the club, as he risks falling further down the pecking order.

Despite limited game time at Liverpool, Kelleher has consistently impressed when given the chance. The Republic of Ireland international recently showcased his skills by saving a penalty from Kylian Mbappé during a match against Real Madrid. However, Kelleher has been vocal about his desire for regular first-team action, stating earlier this season, “I’ve made it clear over the last few years that I want to be a number one and play week in, week out. Sometimes it feels like it’s entirely my decision, but it’s not always in my control.”

Bent likens Kelleher’s situation to that of Emiliano Martinez, who left Arsenal in 2020 to become Aston Villa’s first-choice goalkeeper. Martinez’s move was transformative, as he thrived at Villa and went on to win the World Cup with Argentina. Bent believes Kelleher could achieve similar success if he joins Chelsea, especially given ongoing concerns about the reliability of Chelsea’s current goalkeeper, Robert Sánchez.

“Look at Emiliano Martinez,” Bent said during a talkSPORT interview. “He spent a decade at Arsenal, finally got his chance, performed brilliantly, won the FA Cup, and then moved on to bigger things. Kelleher is 25 now, and it’s time for him to take that step. I think Chelsea is a great opportunity for him. At £35 million, it’s not even a risky move.”

With Chelsea reportedly interested in Kelleher, the transfer could provide him with the chance to establish himself as a leading goalkeeper while also addressing Chelsea’s goalkeeping concerns.
