“Barcelona will employ you and disgracefuly sack you, the did it to other coaches and the did it to me”-Xavi has sent what seems like a clear message to incoming Barca boss Hansi Flick

Following the victory at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, the Barcelona manager gave a speech in which he informed the new manager Hansi Flick that he was in a “tough situation” at the team.

This is what he said:

“I feel as though everything I’ve done in the past 2.5 years has set off an earthquake. I’ve had a lot of attacks. I’ve had trouble working in a serene and relaxed manner. A month ago, we made a stability request. This is life on the football field. It’s unfortunate, but I have to accept it,” he said to DAZN.

“I believe that, given the hardships we face, the job has not received enough appreciation. When we got there, our place in the table was eighth. We came in second. And the reason we haven’t performed well this year is because of four crucial games. This hasn’t happened as I had anticipated. I’m depressed, but I have to do this for now.

“I request that whoever made this choice provide an explanation for their judgment. Whoever shows up is aware of their challenging circumstances, including a dire financial state. It won’t be at all simple.

“We have been critical of ourselves and have failed at many things. As coaches, we need to get much better at the tactical level. It’s been an incredible and educational experience. We have certainly fallen short this season, though.

Hansi Flick will soon be named by Barcelona as Xavi’s replacement. The Bayern manager will formally take over as the team’s new manager when he arrives by plane on Monday.
