Chelsea Manager Mouricio Pochettino has been sacked in shocking scene this evening before Thier premier League clash with Everton tomorrow

Simon Phillips wrote more on his SubStack blog today about how Chelsea is doing their research to find a new coach to replace Mauricio Pochettino in case the current one is fired at the end of the season.

Phillips talked about a few candidates last week, but it looks like one is really shining. Several different people, he says, have said that Eddie Howe is the clear favorite to be our new coach.

Howe was doing a great job at Newcastle, but their season has dropped off a cliff, and there’s a chance they’ll move on from him if they think they can get a bigger name this summer:

The most important thing three different people told me last week was that Eddie Howe of Newcastle United will be considered at the very least if Pochettino is fired or leaves this summer or before,” Phillips wrote.

His reputation at the club is good, and in the past few days, three different people have told me that he is a possible possibility. When I get a name from a group of sources, I know it’s generally true news.

The brand-new
Howe is not an interesting foreign boss who will bring a new style of football to Chelsea and make them into something completely different. That’s why this rumor will make a lot of fans cold.

On the other hand, he is a very good teacher who has a history of getting the best out of the players he has. He’s also the kind of move that we can see this ownership making. That’s not what they want in a head coach—someone who will get things done and not cause trouble. Another thing about Howe is that he won’t cost as much as someone like Diego Simeone and won’t have a lot of expectations for players coming in.

No matter what Chelsea fans think, we are sure that Howe will be on our list if Pochettino leaves and Howe moves on from Newcastle.
