Chelsea Star Enzo Fernandez has finally spoken after being out for the rest of the season by injury
Enzo Fernandez, a midfielder for Chelsea, has said that the surgery he had to treat a groin injury that ended his season was successful.
The midfielder, who is 23 years old, underwent surgery to treat a muscular problem that he says has been bothering him since October. As a result, he was unable to participate in the last six games of the season for the Blues.
He admitted that the decision to end his season early and go under the knife was made after the pain became “more and more intense” to the point where he could no longer “stand it anymore.” Fernandez, who was the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League when he moved to Stamford Bridge from Benfica in January 2023, was the player who made the move.
On the other hand, Fernandez disclosed on Friday via Instagram that the operation had been successful and that he would return to action “stronger than ever.” He also said that he will return to activity “stronger than before.”
Thanks be to God, my procedure was a success, and everything went according to plan. Because I have been lugging the agony for about half a year, I felt it was necessary for me to have this operation,” Fernandez stated.
Despite the fact that I was continuously treating myself with injections and pills, I was able to escape it. A few weeks ago, however, the pain began to become more severe, despite the fact that none of these treatments were having any impact. The discomfort became even more excruciating as I continued to practice and play, but I did not want to stop participating in the games that I had.
Every time I had the opportunity to play with the Chelsea shirt, much like the national team, I always tried my best to perform to the best of my abilities, but I just can’t take it any more…
“I am grateful for the letters, the words of support, and the gesture of love that you constantly send. Sending out a shout out to everyone, I assure you that I will be returning stronger than I have ever been.
Mauricio Pochettino backed Chelsea’s choice to allow Fernandez to have surgery and miss the last games of the season during his press conference session that took place on Friday before the match.
When asked about the situation, Pochettino said, “Enzo Fernandez is in discomfort, he was not playing under normal circumstances, and thus the most important thing is to address the issue.” In the event that he is unable to perform, it will not be beneficial for us, the club, or anybody else.
