GOODNEWS for Manchester United Fans as Bruno Fernandes Red Card is Overturn after appeal with VAR

Despite the contentious decision to bench Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Chris Kavanagh will continue to play in the Premier League.

At the stroke of halftime, the referee determined that the Portuguese international had committed a severe foul against James Maddison of Tottenham Hotspur. Following the game, Fernandes expressed his disagreement with the judgment, saying that the England international shared his opinion that the decision to display a red card was flawed.

Dermot Gallagher, a former Premier League referee, also stated that the on-field ruling was erroneous, calling the occurrence a “optical illusion” and that a yellow card would have been the appropriate course of action.

On Saturday, Kavanagh will be back in the middle of things as an official, albeit in Stockley Park’s VAR hub, when Everton plays Newcastle United at Goodison Park (5:30 p.m. kickoff). When Chelsea plays Nottingham Forest on Sunday, he will be back in the center.

Following the decision to drop Manchester United to 10 men as they trailed 1-0 on Sunday, the referee has come under heavy fire. “I do not think many people, at the time, thought the assistant had any input,” Gallagher said, expressing his belief that Kavanagh was deceived by information provided by the assistant referee.

“You have heard that the referee called the red card quickly. Because of the viewpoint we observed, I believe the referee was led improperly when they were lead. I believe you get a very different conclusion if you combine all of your resources.

“I believe the assistant’s viewpoint will trick him,” Gallagher went on. He will claim that his foot appeared high from that perspective even if he is unable to observe the moment of impact. He is unable to perceive the intensity or velocity he has acquired in that, and as he has come from such a small distance, it is not a red card.
