Lionel Messi has talked about his time with PSG and how hard it was for him to get used to living in Paris. During his senior career, the Argentine great had never played outside of Barcelona before this move, but it was a pretty disappointing experience for everyone.
The Ligue 1 giants signed La Pulga to help them win a European title, but it never happened. It’s still not over for PSG in Europe, and they’ll have mixed feelings about the time they spent with the Argentine superstar, even though he scored 32 goals and set up 35 others in 75 games across all categories.

The Blaugrana great told ESPN’s Martin Arevalo that it was hard for him to get used to life outside of Catalonia. He said he didn’t dislike PSG and agreed that he was upset that things didn’t go as planned:
“I have nothing against them, but things didn’t go the way I had hoped.” I personally had a hard time with the change. It was really hard for all of us. “That really hurts me deeply.”As for the best thing that happened to me, it was in Paris. I became a world winner. When we lived in Paris, our neighbors would ring the doorbell and tell us to be quiet. They were strict. It was around 9 or 10 at night.

The main reason PSG got Lionel Messi was to help them win the UEFA Champions League and become the best team in mainland Europe. After his deal with Barcelona ended in 2021, La Pulga joined the team based in Paris.
The Argentine superstar joined a great attack in Paris, working with Kylian Mbappe and getting back together with Neymar. The three players looked like the world’s most dangerous attack, but they couldn’t take over European football, especially in the UEFA Champions League.
Two years would pass before Messi won the Champions League in Paris again. He would leave the city with a FIFA World Cup ring around his neck, though. He now works as a defender in Major League Soccer for David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
