Manchester United Coach Erik Ten Hag has told the press the reason why Marcus Rashford was subbed off at First half of the match between Porto.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed why Marcus Rashford was removed at halftime during Thursday’s Europa League match against FC Porto.

Rashford, who has battled for form in recent weeks, scored an early goal for United thanks to some excellent wing movement.

He continued to be a threat on the left flank, beating full-back Joao Mario on many times, and shortly after his goal, Rashford helped Rasmus Hojlund to make it two.

To many people’s astonishment, Erik ten Hag opted to replace Rashford at halftime, which they assumed was due to an injury.

After the final whistle, Ten Hag was questioned about his choice to substitute Alejandro Garnacho for Rashford.

“We need to rotate,” he told TNT Sports. “We wanted to get Garnacho onboard. We need to play Garnacho. We have a rapid turnaround at [Aston] Villa. “We want fresh guys on the field on Sunday.”

The reporter then inquired whether Rashford might have played more minutes at the Estadio do Dragao. “We must play Garnacho,” Ten Hag answered.

We move rapidly, with a short turnaround at Villa. They have an extra day, and we have an away game on Sunday, so we want fresh men on the pitch.”

Given Rashford’s impressive performance, many supporters on social media reacted quickly to Ten Hag’s comments.

One supporter stated, “Marcus Rashford was the most menacing player on the pitch, and Porto were tapping out when he got the ball.” Erik ten Hag pulled him off due to a pre-determined rotation schedule! Unbelievable!”
