Newscastle United Saudi club makes stunning offer of £100M for Chelsea Star player as Todd Boehly set to make the biggest Chelsea sale in Club history after Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.

Football finance expert Dr Dan Plumley has identified Fulham as the most probable destination for Raheem Sterling’s next move.

Sterling failed to engineer a transfer away from Chelsea during the summer window and hasn’t played a competitive match since completing a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal last season.

Although as many as five clubs were reportedly interested in the winger, his preference to remain in London has significantly complicated potential moves.

**Fulham Leading the Chase for Sterling**

Sterling has been part of Chelsea’s controversial “bomb squad” since returning last summer, training away from the first-team group throughout the season.

West Ham are believed to have made an approach for the England international, but Sterling isn’t interested in another loan move and is seeking a permanent transfer instead.

Sterling’s last appearance in a Chelsea shirt came during Maresca’s first pre-season in charge.

With only 18 months left on his contract, Chelsea are desperately hoping to resolve the situation this month as they continue paying Sterling’s substantial wages of over £300,000 per week.

Now that the January transfer window has opened, Chelsea are anxiously awaiting progress on Sterling’s future, and Plumley has backed Fulham as the most realistic option.

“Everything we’ve heard suggests the player wants to stay in London, which makes Newcastle look unlikely from his perspective,” he told Football Insider.

“When you look at the London clubs—whether it’s Palace, Fulham, or West Ham—I think Fulham stands out as the most likely destination for me.”

**Wages Will Be the Deciding Factor**

With Fulham emerging as a genuine possibility, Plumley believes Sterling’s hefty wage packet will ultimately determine where he ends up.

“Wages are almost certainly going to be the biggest stumbling block in any club-to-club negotiations,” he added.
