Liam Rosenior, Strasbourg’s head coach, has traveled to London for talks about potentially taking over as Chelsea’s head coach, following Enzo Maresca’s departure. Rosenior, 41, was accompanied by Strasbourg’s president and sporting director, and is the leading candidate for the role.

Interim Coach
Calum McFarlane, Chelsea’s Under-21 manager, is currently acting as interim head coach and will focus on Wednesday’s game against Fulham. He’s open to continuing in the role, but is aware that a new manager could be appointed.

Rosenior’s Background
Rosenior has experience as a manager, having led Derby County and Hull City, and played over 400 games in the Premier League and English Football League. He’s been with Strasbourg since summer 2024 and guided them to UEFA Conference League qualification.

Next Steps
Chelsea’s hierarchy is expected to finalize the appointment soon, with Rosenior’s experience and connections making him a strong candidate. The club faces Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, with McFarlane currently in charge.
