“When I arrived, it was quite a mess.” “I was harming the team and didn’t want to expose myself.” -Chelsea star admits he ‘harmed’ the team and says Mauricio Pochettino fixed squad ‘mess’
This season, Enzo Fernandez played through injuries, which he says “harmed” Chelsea’s performance. He also praised Mauricio Pochettino for “giving order and character” to the team.
Because of a hernia, Argentina’s World Cup winner had to get painkiller shots in order to play for Chelsea for a lot of the season. He is now out for the rest of the season after surgery last month.
Fernandez moved from Benfica to Chelsea for £106.8 million a little over a year ago. The midfielder has said that Pochettino was a big part of making the team work better together.
As Fernandez told DSports, “When I came, it was quite a mess, there were a lot of people.”
“Mauricio gave the team direction and a name.” The way people work is different. Everything changed for the better because of him.
“The team works harder and takes things more seriously.” That’s important for every day, and you can tell the change on the weekends.

Fernandez is now trying to get back to playing for Argentina in the Copa America, which starts on June 20 against Canada.
Fernandez said, “I played with pain and shots for eight months.”
“I had to decide that surgery was the best thing to do.” I did something bad to the team and didn’t want to put myself out there.
“Don’t worry about me, everyone.” Every day I feel better, and I can’t wait for the Copa America to start.
My healing is going well, and I’ve already started training on the field. I hope to be working with the national team soon.
“I’m really looking forward to playing in the Copa America for the first time.”
