Lionel Messi reflects on retirement.
Lionel Messi recently announced that he has no plans to retire just yet. During an interview with ‘Olga Live’ late last year, the Argentine icon stated:

“I have not thought about it, and I do not want to think about it. I want to continue to enjoy what I do. I took a major step by leaving Europe behind. I don’t want to think about the next step; instead, I want to do what I enjoy the most: play. I consider myself fortunate to have a profession I enjoy.
However, the 36-year-old does not aim to play another World Cup:

“I guess not. This was my final World Cup. I’ll see how things unfold, but in principle, I won’t attend the next World Cup.”
Lionel Messi is expected to compete in the Copa America competition between June 20 and July 14, as Argentina seeks to retain their title.
