Reports suggest that Barcelona is eyeing Bayern Munich forward Bryan Zaragoza for a potential transfer during the upcoming summer window.
Zaragoza’s journey to Bayern commenced with a loan move from Granada in January 2024, with plans to make the deal permanent in the summer.
However, Zaragoza has encountered difficulties adjusting to his new club, featuring in only two matches and playing a total of 35 minutes.
His struggles are reportedly compounded by a language barrier, as he is not fluent in German or English.
Consequently, both Zaragoza and Bayern are contemplating a potential departure in the summer, with Barcelona emerging as a potential destination.
Barcelona had previously shown interest in Zaragoza during his time at Granada but was unable to meet the asking price, estimated between €15-20 million.
Now, Barcelona aims to secure Zaragoza’s services on an initial loan basis, with an option to buy, with the total fee not exceeding €20 million. However, negotiations between the clubs will ultimately determine the outcome.
Before joining Bayern, the 22-year-old enjoyed a successful stint at Granada, making 58 senior appearances and contributing 11 goals and three assists.
Zaragoza is not the sole Bayern player on Barcelona’s radar; they have also been linked with Joshua Kimmich, whose contract expires in 2025, fueling speculation of a potential summer departure.
In other developments, Barcelona is gearing up to face Las Palmas in La Liga, with manager Xavi confirming that key players Ilkay Gundogan and Robert Lewandowski will not be rested for the upcoming fixture.
Despite their extensive playing time, both players are deemed fit and ready to contribute. Xavi lauded Gundogan’s stellar season, highlighting his invaluable contributions on and off the pitch.
The German midfielder has been pivotal for Barcelona this season, showcasing impressive performances and serving as a cornerstone for the team.
Similarly, Lewandowski’s impact has been substantial, bolstering Barcelona’s attack with his prolific goal-scoring record and extensive experience.
With the La Liga title race intensifying, Barcelona is determined not to ease off, particularly with a crucial UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain looming.
Therefore, Xavi intends to field his strongest lineup against Las Palmas, with Gundogan and Lewandowski expected to play pivotal roles in Barcelona’s pursuit of silverware this season.
