Transfer News and Rumors

Barcelona manager has just made the first signing of the season and the player has been announced to is afternoon

For Barcelona, the first 20 days of the summer transfer season have been quiet. While there have only been three notable departures—Marc Guiu (to Chelsea), Sergino Dest (to PSV), and Marcos Alonso (contract expiry)—there have been no acquisitions due to the league’s return to the 1:1 rule.

The goal is that Barcelona’s signing count, which currently stands at zero, will soon reach one. Deals for Dani Olmo and Nico Williams are reportedly “on track,” according to Sport, and it’s anticipated that one of the transactions will be completed before the end of next week.
Williams is now the player most likely to sign first. A personal terms deal is in the works, and Barcelona plans to fulfill his release clause as soon as they receive the player’s “yes.” They have forwarded Olmo’s agency a proposal for a deal.

Barcelona would want to sign either player, but it will be very tough given their financial difficulties. Restoring the 1:1 rule to La Liga is only half the fight.
