Premier League News

Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has become manager of this shocking Premier League club today!

Following his firing as manager of Roma on Tuesday, Jose Mourinho is reportedly thinking about his next move, according to 90min.

The Giallorossi said Mourinho was leaving after a bad run of form saw them drop to ninth place in Serie A. His two-and-a-half-year stay at the Stadio Olimpico was over. Mourinho’s deal with Roma was up in the summer, and he made it clear that he wanted to stay with the club.

At this point, sources have told 90min that Mourinho does not have any plans. It was mostly Roma’s choice to end his rule in the Italian city. He will, however, have plenty of offers.

Recent rumors have linked Mourinho with a return to the Premier League with both his old team, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. However, 90min knows that any immediate moves to those teams would be very shocking, and nothing is official at this point.

The owners of Chelsea want to be patient with head coach Mauricio Pochettino, even though the team hasn’t had a great start to the season. They want to judge him as soon as possible, preferably in the summer. Fans have already raised concerns about the Argentine, and Middlesbrough of the Championship could eliminate them in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Newcastle, meanwhile, also wants to give Eddie Howe, their under-pressure manager, more time. This season, Howe has had to deal with a long list of injuries.

In the past few months, Mourinho said that he might be interested in becoming a manager in Saudi Arabia one day. 90min has learned that if he is still looking for work in the summer, the Saudi Pro League will almost certainly make him an offer.

In the past, Al Hilal almost offered Mourinho £30 million a year to manage the club. However, they are now in first place in the league and in the running for another Asian Champions League title, so they are not likely to change managers any time soon.

But Al Ahli and Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Al Nassr, could still try to hire Mourinho because they have both been interested in him as a boss in the past.

It’s also possible that Mourinho will become an international manager. There will be a lot of openings this summer after Euro 2024 and the Copa America, which is the buildup to the 2026 World Cup. According to reports, Mourinho would be interested in taking over as England manager if Gareth Southgate quits after the Euros. However, Southgate has said he wants to stay on as Three Lions manager.
