“I WANT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBAL” Al Nassr Star player Christiano Ronaldo Shocks Football world, Ready To Join European giant Because of UCL
Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to a surprise summer transfer to a Champions League team.
Ronaldo seemed to be finished in Europe when he left Manchester United by mutual consent in November 2021 and moved to the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo has been as productive as ever in Saudi Arabia; his most recent hat-trick for Al Nassr against Al Wehda brought his season total to 47 goals in 46 games across all competitions.
And the most in-form team in Europe has taken notice of the 39-year-old’s ongoing relentlessness in front of goal, according to sources.
Ronaldo has drawn interest from Bayer Leverkusen, claims journalist Alhazza Mutab.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is reportedly wanted by the just crowned Bundesliga winners, who are remarkably still on track for an undefeated season in all competitions.
Ronaldo was reportedly suggested by Xabi Alonso, the manager of Leverkusen, who together with the forward played for Real Madrid.
Ronaldo has touted the quality of the Saudi Pro League since moving there, so it’s unclear if he would be open to returning to Europe.
Ronaldo said, “To be honest I think the Saudi League is not worse than French league, in my view,” in response to a question about the caliber of the Saudi first flight back in January.
“I believe you have two or three excellent teams in the French league. Right now, I believe things are more competitive in Saudi Arabia. It’s only my viewpoint, and I played there for a year, so they can say anything they want.
“We still grow, but I believe we are better than [the] French league right now.”
