Deal to trade Julian Alvarez and Rodrygo

We think that El Nacional is a gift that keeps on giving.

This week, the Spanish newspaper came up with another cracker by

A) Maintaining that Guardiola, not Txiki Begiristain, is in charge of Man City’s trade business.

B) Asking for a straight swap between two players whose values are very different on the market right now, especially after Rodrygo and Alvarez had very different seasons in 2023–24.

The whisper
Duncan Castles says that Manchester United are thinking about Sander Berge as an option to Manuel Ugarte, who they want to sign.

Thoughts?
It might have made sense for this trade rumor to float in 2019.

But now, in 2024, after seeing Berge play in the Premier League and the Championship over the past few years, it doesn’t.

Gazzetta dello Sport said that Juventus is looking for a backup striker and has seen Armando Broja of Chelsea as a possible choice.

Thoughts?
Because Arkadiusz Milik has had trouble staying fit over the years, it makes sense that Juve would want to get a new striker to help Dusan Vlahovic.

Broja is a cheap way for them to fill this hole in their attack, but is he a good enough choice? He might be, but it is hard to say right now.
