Premier League News

VERY SAD NEWS as Former Manchester United Star has announced his retiring from football this morning, and he is just 31yrs the peak of his career

A former goalkeeper in the Premier League has said that he is leaving professional football at the age of 37.

Over the course of 18 years, the right back played for nine different teams in the Premier League and the EFL.

Most people will know him, though, for being on the Leicester City team that won the Premier League in 2016.

The player in question played 133 times for the Foxes, 32 of those games coming during Claudio Ranieri’s famous season.

He signed with non-league team Macclesfield in December 2023, but he has now ended his career.

There are a lot of hardworking people at every club, and I do not know how to thank them all.

“As a teenager, the goal was to play any amount of professional football.” What more could I want? To play over 400 games, win prizes, and make friends for life?

“Finally, as the great Sir Matt Busby said, football is nothing without people.” That’s it for now. Thank you to all the fans of the clubs I wore the shirt for. There were good and bad times, but it meant the world to us to know that you had our backs.

“Finally, I’m excited about what the future holds.”

Simpson started out at Manchester United and played eight times for them. He also had loan stays at Royal Antwerp, Sunderland, Ipswich, and Blackburn.
