“after all I have done for man city-One of the hardest days of my career’ – Man City’s Ederson hits out after report he was ‘affected’ by praise for team-mate Stefan Ortega

Ederson left City’s second-to-last Premier League game of the season against Tottenham because he was hurt. His team was ahead 1-0. After Ortega replaced him, Son Heung-min scored an equalizer, but Ortega made an amazing save to stop him. City went on to beat West Ham and win the Premier League title in the last game of the season.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
A lot of people praised Ortega for the stop, and The Athletic said that Ederson was moved by the nice things people said about his backup. The 30-year-old man is said to want to leave because of his mood because Saudi Arabia is interested in him, but he has denied the reports on social media.

HOW EDERSON SAID IT
In an Instagram post, he said, “I’d like to make it clear that the note that The Athletic released yesterday, which said I was unhappy with a coworker, is not true at all.”

“The supposed day in question was without a doubt one of the hardest days of my career. I broke my leg, which kept me from playing in the last few games of the season and, as a result, from playing for my country in the Copa América.”

“At the time of the injury, all I could think about was continuing the game and defending City in the fight for the title we had just won. But the emotion of the game would be stronger than reality, and I would not have been able to continue as I would have liked because of the damage that blocked my vision completely.”

“I’m still focused on getting ready for the season.”
